Donna Wood, Wilson Chair in Business Ethics

Professional Accomplishments

Dr. Wood is the author of Business & Society 1/e, 2/e; Strategic Uses of Public Policy. She co-authored International Business and Society; Research in Teams; Global Business Citizenship; Behavioral Dynamics of Internal Auditing. She has published more than 40 articles and papers in journals including the Academy of Management Review, Business Ethics Quarterly, and Business & Society. Her current articles include Global Business Citizenship and Voluntary Codes of Ethical Conduct, What Global Business Citizenship Tells Us About Sarbanes-Oxley and Taking Stakeholders Seriously. She is the Past Editor of Business & Society and the Past President of the International Association for Business and Society (IABS); past Chair of the Social Issues in Management(SIM) Division of the Academy of Management; past President of the Society for Business Ethics (SBE). Dr. Wood's awards include IABS Best Paper Award, SIM Sumner Marcus Award, World Resources Institute Faculty Pioneer Award, Leavey Award for Excellence in Private Enterprise Education (Freedoms Foundation). Her recent presentations include the keynote address, Corporate Social performance: Research and Recent Developments in Montreal in 2003, Global Business Citizenship in Korea in 2002 and Social Issues in Management Division (SIM), Academy of Management In Seattle in 2003. Dr. Wood joined the UNI faculty as the David W. Wilson professor of business ethics chair in 2002 after more than twenty years of teaching experience at the University of Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt University, the University of Virginia and the University of Michigan. Her papers and presentations have been published and seen around the world. Dr. Wood speaks on social responsibility and global business ethics around the world.


Teaching Interests: Business Ethics, Corporate Responsibility, International Business and Society.

Research Interests:

Corporate Social Performance, Business Ethics, Global Business Citizenship, Stakeholder Theory.
